The Skinner Family
Maternal Ancestors of Allie Pullam Floyd
NOTE: The Skinner family line goes back to an early settler of Massachusetts, according to the Vaughn-Christian website posted by Jessica Vaughn. I have contacted her, asking for the sources of her information.

John Skinner (Jr.) (b. 1640)
Mary Blake (b. 1650)
John Skinner was born about 1640 in Wrentham, MA, the son of John Skinner who was born about 1600 (probably in England). Thus, the senior John Skinner would have been the immigrant ancestor and he would have been one of the early settlers of Massachusetts. If he didn't come on the Mayflower in 1620, he probably came soon after.
John, Jr., married Mary Blake who was born about 1650. No further information about her or her family.
They became parents of one known child, John Skinner (III) born 1666 in VA.[1] |
|
John Skinner (III) (1666-1773)
Jane Smith
John Skinner (III) was born in March 1666 in Virginia, the son of John Skinner (Jr.) and Mary Blake.
John (III) married Jane Smith (no further information about her or her family). They became parents of one known child: William Skinner, born 1704 in Virginia.
John died 14 Apr 1773 in Virginia. If that date is correct, he would have been 107 years old. |
|
William Skinner (1704-1747)
Ann Neaps
William Skinner was born 1704 in Virginia, the son of John Skinner (III) and Jane Smith.
He married Ann Neaps (no further information on her or her family) and they became the parents of at least one child: William Skinner (Jr.) born 1725 in Virginia.
William, Sr. died in 1747 in North Carolina. |
|
William Skinner (Jr.) (b. 1725)
Priscilla (unknown)
William Skinner (Jr.) was born in 1725 in Virginia, the son of William Skinner (Sr.) and Ann Neaps.
He married Priscilla (last name unknown; no further information on her or her family). They became the parents of one known child: Benjamin Skinner, born 1750 in Lenoir, NC.
William (Jr.) died in North Carolina; date is unknown. |

(IF the birth dates and places on the children are correct, they must have moved to Kentucky and back to South Carolina, then back to Kentucky again.)
