John Pullam

1764-1814

 

            John Pullam was born 1764 in Rutherford, NC, the son of Thomas Pullam.  He died 29 December 1814 in Camp Jackson, NC.  He married Mary (last name unknown) in 1791 in North Carolina.  She as born between 1770 and 1780 and died after 1830.  They had 10 children:  Sarah, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Thomas, Joseph, Margaret, John W., and three unnamed male children.[1]

Priscilla "Prissie" Skinner

(1800-1835)

 

 

            Thomas Pullam was born in 1795 in North Carolina, the son of John Pullam and Mary, his wife.[2]

 

          At the age of 14 Thomas Pulliam came with his parents to Union Co., KY. 

 

          Priscilla Skinner was born 27 Apr 1800 in Henderson Co., KY, the daughter of Jesse Skinner and Sarah Alley Mozingo (see SKINNER).

 

          Thomas and Priscilla were married 11 September 1817[3] in Union Co., KY, and had the following children:

 

                   i         Allie Pullam  (1819-after 1910) m. William J. Floyd
                             (See FLOYD)

                   ii        John Marion Pullam b. 1821 Union Co., KY

                   iii.      Benjamin B. Pullam b. 9 Oct 1828 Union Co., KY

                   iv.      David Pullam b. Crittenden  Co., KY

                   v.       William Pullam b. 1830 Union Co., KY

                   vi.      Robert Pullam b. 1832

                   vii.     Mary Jane Pullam b. 1834

 

          Thomas bought wild land and improved some 3 or 4 different farms in Union, Crittendon and  Webster counties of KY.[4] 

 

          Priscilla died in 1835 in Union Co., KY.

 

          Thomas remarried, probably Amelia (or Milly or Medley) Blackwell, on 28 Dec 1835 in Union Co., KY.  The family appears in the 1850 Union Co., KY census, p. 467, as follows:

 

          Thomas Pullam 55, farmer born NC, Milly 47, Katherine 13, Elizabeth 11, Sarah 10, and Nancy 9.  These children are all those of Thomas and his second wife.

 

          Living nearby are Thomas's sons by his first marriage, Ben Pullam and John Pullam, and their families.  His daughter Allie was married to William J. Floyd by 1850, and her brother Robert was living with her, all in Webster County, KY.

 

          Thomas died 20 July 1878 in Union Co., KY.[5]
