Hugh Terhune Ransdell was born 17 Nov 1907 in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, KY, the youngest of six sons of Joseph Jackson Ransdell and Laura Bell Terhune Ransdell. He married on 5 May 1929 Gertrude Forsyth Carr, the daughter of Cleo Perkins Carr (1870-1946) and Nellie Rachel Bercaw Carr (1875-1963). They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage before Gertrude's death in 1990[1].

They left Harrodsburg and moved to Dayton, Ohio, where Hugh worked as a mold repairman at Dayton Tire & Rubber Company.

Hugh and Gertrude had three children.

Gertrude died December 5, 1990 at the age of 87, and is buried in Memorial Park in Dayton, Ohio.

Hugh died October 21, 1994, at the age of 86, and is also buried in Memorial Park in Dayton, Ohio.
