Harvey and Allie had two daughters:
i. Ada Bell Ransdell (b. 10 Apr 1923, d. 12 Jul 1932)
ii. LIVING
Their daughter remembers her father as being easy-going, never complaining about anything. He was always able to laugh and never seemed to worry about anything. He believed in God and thought the best of people. He believed in being in church every Sunday. Harvey's greatest talent was in getting along with people. Many people in the little town of Bohon where the family lived didn't have automobiles, and Harvey regularly provided free taxi service, just as a favor. For many years he also cleaned the church he attended and had it ready for Sunday morning services. He loved listening to singing, even though he wasn't a singer himself, and never missed an all-day singing service at any nearby church.
Allie was always content to stay at home, keeping house and caring for her family. She believed in God and always went to church when she was able. For many years she baked the bread used for communion at her church, and she always invited the preacher to dinner during revivals. When their daughter was a child, her mother made most of her clothes.
Harvey Ransdell died 4 July 1973 in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY, and is buried in the Bohon Cemetery, Bohon, KY.
His wife
Allie Gritton Ransdell died 12 July 1984 in Mercer Co., KY, and is also buried in the
Bohon Cemetery,
Bohon, KY.
